11 Plus Tutoring System
Mrs Jones Education has developed an excellent, progressive teaching system using a combination of our own course materials, a wide range of workbooks and past exam paper practice. The children are thoroughly tutored and prepared for their examinations, taking them to a much higher level than specified to ensure they have the greatest opportunity for success.Lesson Structure
We use a combined system of small group teaching and timed mock exam practice. This ensures that each child receives maximum individual attention as well as being able to experience real exam conditions.
11 Plus classes for Year 4 are 2 hours in length and Year 5 are 2¼ hours. Classes are split into two parts. One part of the lesson is a teaching session consisting of a small group of between 8 and 10 children, where your child will receive tuition on an individual basis.
The second part is a combined teaching, timing and technique session and is in a larger group to allow your child to become familiar with the test situation and improve their speed and accuracy. The timing and technique sessions are very important as this is an area where many children fall down in their exams. During this second part, we also do creative writing and vocabulary work.11 Plus Course Content
